Mara Dupuis provides education, guidance, and support with exercise and nutrition to adults and teens both virtually and in-person.
In accordance with the mission of Traction Wellness, I am committed to education and empowerment in order to help you meet your goals through individualized programming, education, and support. At times this may look like typical personal training sessions, general gym and equipment education, nutrition coaching for body recomposition, education on labs/lab markers for optimizing health and working with your PCP, deep diving into adrenal health and gut health from a functional nutrition perspective, or assisting with the transition from physical therapy back into a regular workout program following surgery or injury.
My belief is that we have a vast capacity for health and longevity by addressing physical health, mental health, and our environment and it is well within all of our capacities to do that with a little bit of support! I have found through experience that a holistic and personalized approach to building strength and endurance while continuing to focus on general health and well-being is integral to long-term success and progression across a lifetime.
As a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) I am educated in advanced strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, injury resistance, training program design, coaching, sports nutrition, and the psychology of sports performance. Since becoming certified in 2020, I have continued to build on that education by obtaining my Functional Nutrition and Metabolism Specialty (FNMS) certification which has enhanced my ability to provided individualized nutrition programming while troubleshooting common roadblocks to health and wellness related to inflammation, stress, insulin resistance, and lifestyle factors. My education and licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), is not professionally utilized at Traction Wellness but many years in the field of rehabilitative therapy has provided a strong foundation for health and wellness as well as an advanced understanding of musculoskeletal systems and how they are impacted by injury.
If you are interested in more information about personal training and/or functional nutrition services that we offer please don’t hesitate to reach out, we would love to talk with you!
Mara graduated from Utica College in 2010 with a degree in Sociology/Anthropology and Psychology. She continued on to St. Catherine’s University where she graduated as a COTA in 2015.
